KOJA’S NEW FACTORY IN THE COMMISSIONING PHASE
Koja’s new factory in Jalasjärvi has entered the commissioning phase. The production move is in its final stages, and machine installations are currently underway. With the move, heat exchanger production will shift to the new factory, while air handling unit manufacturing will continue in the current factory. The first production phases in the new factory are already in operation.
THE FIRST HEAT EXCHANGER HAS BEEN MANUFACTURED
Investments in the Jalasjärvi production include not only the new factory building but also investments of several million euros in machinery, equipment, and production automation.
"The new factory has been a huge job, but everything has gone well. We are truly proud of the team that has been involved in this project! Elements like layout, machine acquisitions, and hall construction, have been significant tasks, requiring a considerable amount of working hours. Thanks go to a wide group, including the production workers who have provided valuable contribution and insights into the layout design," praises Pekka Kortesmaa, the Production Manager of heat exchangers.
Machine installations and facility arrangement work will continue for several more weeks. Nevertheless, production has already started due to excellent planning and a tight relocation schedule. The first heat exchanger in the new factory was completed as planned on January 8th, 2024.
"It's great to work in these new modern facilities. The new layout already feels very functional, even though the arrangement of places is still a bit incomplete," say assembly workers Hermanni Paavola and Onni Yritys.
THE FACTORY WILL BE INAUGURATED AT THE END OF JANUARY
The new factory will be officially inaugurated at the end of January with an opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting, together with the personnel at Jalasjärvi. The construction of the factory was carried out by ViiSaa Oy, and Koja is leasing the premises through a long-term lease agreement.
