The fan factory close to being ready
The new factory built in Tampere is at the commissioning stage. The fan factory, equipped with modern technology, is among the world leaders in the field. All production will start in the recently completed premises towards the end of the year.
The factory, which represents the most modern technology in the world, will improve productivity and quality and significantly shorten production lead times. Even larger process fans than before will be manufactured in the factory for the special requirements of heavy industry. The product range includes fans from a couple of kilowatts to several megawatts.
“With the help of our skilled design team, we optimise solutions flexibly according to customers’ needs,” says Project Manager Pauli Harju, who was involved in planning the factory.
The new factory also houses the offices of the fan business. This way Finnish product development, design, production management and service operations are situated close to production. Over the past year, the fan business has increased sales and service staff also internationally by setting up a new branch office in Sweden to support both local and international operations.
“We aim to react flexibly and offer professional services closer and closer to customers,” says Juha Niskanen, Business Director of Process Fans.
Koja has already reached a global position in the fan market, and more than 20,000 fans are used all over the world. As Juha Niskanen is retiring, a new business director is being looked for to pursue international growth.
The family-owned company Koja is making the biggest investments in its history. 50 million euros are invested in modernising production and expanding operations in Finland in the 2015–2020 period. In addition to factories and machines, we invest in people by training personnel and recruiting new talented people.
